In the comments to my previous article, Shane alerted me to the Herald's good news that a grocer will be moving into the long-vacant space on 47th Street built by the Co-op. I know zip about Michael's Fresh Markets, but any grocer will be a plus for the neighbors.
I'll be so happy to see the Co-op sign come down from that building. It was a constant reminder of failure.
That is exciting news indeed. Figures that it would be announced the week after I moved away from 47th Street.

Great news! Just moved here from Lincoln Park so it's a bit of a shock at the lack of stores around Hyde Park-Kenwood. Can't wait 'till Michaels Grocery opens. It can't be soon enough! We'll be there ready and waiting.
