We at Hyde Park Urbanist would like to belatedly applaud the University of Chicago for creating your position of Director of Transportation & Parking and then hiring someone, such as yourself, who cares deeply about finding alternatives to driving for our university community.
Now that I've sufficiently buttered you up, would you please buy us a couple Cargocycles. I'm thinking they would be very useful for those of us without cars who need occasionally to transport large and/or heavy objects. Perhaps, they could be made free for use by anyone with a University I.D. or willing to leave a deposit. Just knowing that a Cargocycle would be available, free to use, might convince yet a couple more people that they can have a healthy & abundant car-free life.
Sincerely, Your Friend in Transit, James Withrow
And thanks to Streetsblog and CoolTown Studios for passing along this French innovation, which is yet another way that Hyde Park could be even more like Paris.

PuppetBike, the coolest thing in Chicago, is on a cargo tricycle.
